Inverter technology

Trough new, advanced technology, Inverter air conditioners are more energy efficient to operate and much quiter to run than fixed speed conventional units. Inverters can handle greater extremes in temperature, are smoother and more stable in operation and reach the desired temperature quicker than a fixed speed unit.

The inverter electronics component allows the outdoor unit to vary its speed and output to match the capacity needed to maintain the temperatuere inside. This means the Inverter system can acheive approximately 30% more operating efficiency then conventional models.

When moisture (known as humid air) is drawn over the evaporator coil (indoor unit) of a split system, the water in the air freezes onto the coil as it passes through.

This condensation (frozen water) soon melts off the coil and drains from the air conditioner via a drain.

The amount of condensation that a split system air conditioner generates depends on the relative humidity on the day, but rest assured, this amount is more than what most people think!

Please see the table below, which specifies the maximum amount of condensate water that each capacity of split system air conditioner will generate.

All this water has to go somewhere... and if your air conditioner is generating up to 4.7 litres an hour, it MUST drain somewhere where it:

  • Won't affect the health and safety of people around it.
  • Won't affect the integrity of the buildings around it.
  • Conforms with plumbing industry regulations.
